PUB new Jetting Machines and Training

Feb 2026 | Public Notices

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) recently conducted a two-day training on the use of new jetting machines to support sewer maintenance works. The training was led by Liam Stuart from Pressure Solutions in New Zealand, with the participation of 14 PUB staff members. The training was a two days training held earlier this month, with the main purpose of the training to train PUB staff to properly operate the new jetting machines for clearing blockages in the PUB sewer network. About 70 percent of the training was hands-on, allowing staff to practice and become familiar with the safe and effective operation of the machines. PUB now has two new jetting machines, which will be put into operation immediately after the training to improve sewer services. PUB sincerely acknowledges and thanks the South Tarawa Sanitation Project for their valuable support and funding assistance towards the purchase of the new jetting machines and the delivery of this important training.
