The Public Utilities Board invites applications from potential candidates for a vacancy now existing within the Public Utilities Board.
VACANCY: Financial Controller
Salary : Grade 3.1 (PUB Pay Scale)
The position will be based at Betio main office, and will report to the General Manager, Finance.
Qualification and Experience: The person required should have:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field from an accredited University or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial role, as a Senior Accountant or Accountant, or relevant analyst role.
OR
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field with minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial role.
- Have completed or partially completed CA/CPA is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Controller manages daily financial operations and ensures the effective, efficient and economical use of the PUB’s fund in the fulfilment of its corporate objectives and in the pursuit of the implementation and supervision of the new financial information system, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Financial Controller monitors and reports financial trends and issues and collaborate with the Finance General Manager in ensuring professional reporting.
We need someone with the ability to use technologies and analyse data and information effectively, knowledge of contemporary accounting standards and processes, high level of integrity and professionalism, strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and ability to work independently.
