Our People

David Drake

is our CEO for the past 12 months. David has an extensive international background in business and finance and is leading PUB through a period of change.

Teitibwebwe Kaberiera

is the General Manager of Corporate Services and has a background in customer service with major institutions. Teitibwebwe possesses extensive knowledge of PUB operations and its customers.

Teebwatia Takau

is the General Manager of Power, and while he is new to the role, he brings his enthusiasm for diesel engines to his daily work to ensure generators keep operating and to enhance efficiency in operations.

Tom Ruatu

is the General Manager of Water & Sanitation. Although new to the role, he has many years of experience with PUB and in managing the network. Tom is excited about the STWSP and the significant changes it will bring to PUB and South Tarawa.

Simon Reiher

is the General Manager of Planning and Compliance, a small department that plays a significant role in managing network maintenance, expansion, loss reduction, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Reiati Temaua

is the General Manager Legal Services & Internal Audit and Reiati is a lawyer with government experience who is expanding his role and impact at PUB by overseeing local projects, including the new Betio PowerHouse, extraction of Waste Oils and Community Engagements for development projects.

Anne Naata

is the General Manager of Finance. She has been with PUB for two years and has made significant progress, taking ownership of the new Oracle-based NetSuite IMS and contributing greatly to the overhaul and re-establishment of PUB’s financial management and control systems.

Tenikoria Katauea

Is the General Manager of Renewable Energy who joined the PUB executive team in late 2025, to lead the transition to renewable energy that will be driven by the operationalisation of the STREP facilities later this year and into 2027.

Kirita Aaron

Kirita is a long-serving PUB employee and a much-loved member of our team, always willing to support staff and help in any way possible.

Kirita was the Human Resource Manager for several years and has come to know PUB operations and personnel very well. She has contributed to managing staff and handling HR issues during difficult periods when resources were limited. In recent years, Kirita took over supervision of the payroll and managed the transition from the Attache system to the new Zone/NetSuite payroll.

Moving into her senior years, Kirita now fills a Special Projects role, that allows her to advance gender equality and to oversee facility improvements as PUB transitions to a larger organisation and adapts to new systems, policies and procedures across the energy and water & sanitation space.
